{Life Happens}

Yikes!  It's been almost 2 weeks since I blogged last & quite honestly, I have no idea where the time even went.  This time of year is super busy for me between work & volunteer commitments...it feels like I am never home!  I have so many unfinished projects & it makes an organized, detailed person like myself CRAZY!!  I started mini "makeovers" in both of my guestrooms & I have yet to finish those {once I do - I promise to do a post on the before & after}.

Life happens.  That's the best way to explain it.  But, here is what I have been up to!

A huge weight was lifted off my shoulders on April 15th.  I rewarded myself with a cut & highlight...
 The following week involved Aggie Muster on Thursday evening...
A school program for my niece on Friday night....
Early morning ramp building with my church on Saturday morning...
{We build wheelchair ramps free of charge for those less fortunate.  It truly is one of my favorite ministries that our church does.  On Saturday, we completed ramp 100 & 101...so we celebrated!}

And y'all - I know I am supposed to be boycotting Target, but I. Just. Can't.  It's my all-time favorite store so I had to stop in on my trip over the College Station Saturday afternoon.  They have been knocking it out of the park with their Dollar Spot the last 6 months, but I'm a little disappointed in their summer selection.
Sunday my Godchild got confirmed.  How is that even possible?!  It seems like she was just born & now she's about to start driving!! Man that makes me feel old.
I was going to spend Sunday afternoon mowing & working in the yard, but once again - it rained.  I'm fairly certain we have gotten close to 10 inches in the past week.  I fertilized 2 weeks ago so needless to say, my yard is a jungle!  I was off on Monday because I had a day full of appointments - dermatologist, dentist, etc.  So between appointments, I mowed & cleaned house. {& put on a new duvet cover on my bed, painted my back door & retiled the table on my deck...I get sidetracked easily, can you tell?!}  In the end, I started a lot of projects & didn't finish any.  I did manage to get the entire yard mowed, but the house didn't get clean & none of the projects I started got finished.  Life happens, remember? =)
Nola & I ended our busy day yesterday & with a long walk.  Despite being a little hot & humid - the sunset was gorgeous last night...
Needless to say, after having me home for 3 days, I'm pretty sure Nola was ready for me to go back to work this morning.  Poor puppy was exhausted.
The next 2 weeks are crazy busy again; I'm fairly certain I have something every evening. But, the light at the end of the tunnel is a day trip we have planned to Magnolia Market in Waco on May 19th.  Y'all, I am so freaking excited...let the countdown begin!!

{& please hang in there a little longer...I promise to have better blog posts coming soon!}

{Life Lately}

Yikes!!  I haven't blogged in forever or done a weekend recap in 2 weeks!  Work is crazy busy for me right now so when I get home, I don't feel like doing much of nothin'.  But, here's a little glimpse of life lately...

Two weekends ago, some friends & I went to a girl's night out in downtown Brenham.  Most of the shops were open late, served wine & offered discounts on your purchase.  We ended the night with margaritas & Mexican food...
Little league started up so I have been watching my nephew play....
This little cutie had a sleepover...
We went shopping which clearly she didn't enjoy...
I found my new favorite Bath & Body Works Candle.  Seriously...it smells so good!  When I first got it, I almost returned it because I didn't  like the way it smelled.  I went ahead & burned it and was so glad I did. I love it...
Nola & I encountered a very large snake on one of our walks...
We celebrated National Pet Day...
And finally, I opened another Instagram account for my blog/decorating!  Follow me @faithfootballandfairytales.  On my second day - I was featured on an Instagram account with this picture of my breakfast room...
So that is what I have been up to the past 2 weeks.  I am still working on my office & guestroom mini-makeover so as soon as I get finished, I'll be blogging about those.  Happy tax week!!

{Currently: April}

I'm fairly certain it was just yesterday when I did my Currently: March post.  How did another month already pass by?!  This time of year is super busy for me at work so the time seems to fly by {even faster than usual}.  So, today I am linking up with Jenna & Anne...here's what is currently going on in April!
Making: lots of little decor updates around the house.  I have lived there a little over 18 months now so it was time for a change & refresh.  And yes, I have jumped on board the Chip & Joanna train and feel like my house needs a little "farmhouse" vibe.  No shiplap yet, but I'm hoping one day in the near future. =)

Wishlisting: a backyard makeover, but unfortunately that one isn't going to fit in the budget this year.  But, I am dreaming & wishing for a paver patio, pergola, party lights & lots of landscaping.

Cleaning: out closets, drawers, the pantry, etc.  Spring cleaning time is in full swing!  I go thru phases where I get tired of clutter & the past few weeks was one of those times.  Thankfully my aunt had a garage sale so lots went in that, lots of clothes was listed on a local online sale site & some will be donated to a local organization.  There is nothing more rewarding than a clean, organized closet.

Posting:  room updates soon!  I redid an old dresser, repainted & organized my grocery pantry, repainted & redecorated my guestroom & redecorated my office...and I have yet to post about any of it.  Soon, very soon - I promise!

Tasting:  Nestle Splash water!  I am trying to do better & not drink as many Diet Cokes.  I have never had an issue drinking water - I drink lots at work everyday, but let's face it - plain water gets a little boring sometimes.  I found these on sale last week so I gave them a try & I'll definitely be switching out a bottle of two of my regular water for these.

That's what I am currently doing...how about you?
