{This Is 40}

Well, it happened.
On Saturday, I turned 40.

I was going to write this long post with my thoughts on turning 40, but not much has changed since I posted my thoughts on turning 39...you can read that here.  I thought about doing a "40 before I turn 40" bucket list, but honestly - that didn't happen either.  Maybe 41 before I turn 41?! =)

Instead - I figured I would share how I celebrated.....no big party, no big trip.  Basically a few nights out with all of my favorite people.  And it was perfect!

My week didn't start off as planned...I had taken Monday off & planned to spend it in Houston having a "me day" like I have done the past few years.  But, my sweet Nola girl woke up throwing up so an unexpected trip to the vet was first on the agenda.  A week, 2 more trips to the vet & lots of meds later...she's still not 100% herself.  And not going to lie - it's had this dog momma worried.  So I'm glad we didn't plan anything big because honestly - I wasn't in the mood.
I stayed home with her for an hour or so to make sure she was ok & then I made a quick trip down to Houston.  I hit up a LOT of stores in a small amount of time...so I can't exactly say it was a relaxing trip.  But, I did have fun & got to spend all my birthday coupons.
Tuesday evening I got my hair done & then on Thursday evening, the ladies at work & I went out for Mexican food & margaritas!  Two of our office managers from different branches were down so they joined us.
Friday I got to work & found a very {tastefully} decorated desk!  No black...just lots of bright colors, balloons, flowers & lots of yummy snacks.
Friday was also....
That was one holiday we could not let go uncelebrated!  So, Kelly, Carol, Felicia & I went for drinks & supper at Chili's.  No pics of us {they wouldn't take one...just sayin}, but I did get one of my delicious margarita & cupcakes!
Most of Saturday was spent worrying about Nola and the fact that she still hadn't eaten much & was still not feeling well. Poor baby. =(  I had plans for supper that evening with my entire family at Las Fuentes...night #3 of margaritas - doesn't get much better than that! =)
And, so that my friends, is 40! Honestly I think 30 might have bothered me more than 40?!  Age it just a number after all....and celebrating another year is definitely better than the alternative!  =)

So, here's to a fabulous 40th!!
