The weekend before Thanksgiving, Debbie, Lynn, Gail & I went on our annual football road trip, this time to Athens, GA. I seriously look forward to this all year cause we have the absolute best time. A lot of people think we are crazy for driving {& maybe we are}, but that's what makes it so fun!!
We were packed & headed out by 9:00 on Thursday morning.
We drove to Biloxi Thursday night & stayed at Harrah's. We did a little gambling & then hit the road early Friday morning.
We arrived in Bethlehem, GA late Friday evening & decided to skip going to Midnight Yell in Atlanta. We were exhausted so we went to a restaurant next to our hotel and had steak & drinks instead, followed by a trip to Target. =)
We woke up to rain {& a gorgeous view} the next morning.
Unfortunately the rain didn't let up for most of the day. We made the 15 minute drive over to Athens and explored the campus & downtown for a while between rain showers before the game.
As we headed into the stadium, it started pouring & it didn't let up until halftime. It was honestly quite miserable...but thankfully it wasn't any colder than it was.
After halftime, the skies cleared & it ended up being a beautiful night. Unfortunately we lost 19-13, but despite it all - I would do it again in a heartbeat! It's always so. much. fun.
We drove back to Montgomery, AL that night & happened to stop at the very first Chick-fil-A!
Next year we are headed to Starkville, MS for the University of Mississippi game...let the countdown begin!
