{Christmas 2017)

Oh my goodness y'all, I am so far behind I may never catch up!  So, I apologize in advance if my New York City recap is in March.  Seriously, it's that bad. Ugh.

Speaking of NYC, Amanda, Morgan, John & I had a fabulous time!  We left on Saturday morning & came home Tuesday night.  It was a jam-packed, fun-filled 4 days.  Recap coming...soon{ish}.
Thankfully I had the entire week off once we returned so I had a few days to do some last minute shopping, cookie baking, margarita drinking & lots of Hallmark movie watching.
I gave myself a new kitchen faucet for Christmas.  Yes, after only 3 1/2 years it was leaking.  Sometimes being an adult & homeowner is overrated.
On Christmas Eve, we met KC, Amy & Khloe for supper and then mom & I went to the 11:00pm candlelight service at St. Paul's.  The Christmas Eve service is absolute favorite...I look forward to it all year!
Despite the fact that she chewed up a sock, glove & shoe upon my return from NYC, Santa stopped by & visited Nola on Christmas morning.  The dog seriously LOVES new toys.  You should have seen her tail wagging when she walked in the living room that morning.  Of course by now, most of them no longer have squeakers or stuffing...but she had the absolute best time!

Christmas night, we went to my parent's for our family Christmas. With my grandma in the nursing home, we decided to change things up a little this year...just didn't seem right having it at her house.  Surprisingly she did come & although she might not remember it, she had a great time.
The next night, we came back out to mom & dad's to celebrate our Christmas.
By late Tuesday night, this is kinda how we were all feeling...
It was back to work for me on Wednesday after 11 days off...talk about rough!  We are expected to get a massive Arctic front this weekend, with highs in the 30's & lows in the 20's. I am hosting a small NYE party at my house Sunday night, otherwise it will be a pretty quiet weekend.

Wishing you all a very happy & prosperous New Year!  Thank you so much for following along for another year.  I will be back after the 1st with a {very late} holiday home tour, NYC  trip recap & 2017 Year in Review.

Happy New Year, friends!

{Snow Day}

Y'all.  We got snow.  Real Snow. In Brenham, Texas.

And it was the most unexpected surprise ever!  Last week, there was chatter on the weather news about possible snow/sleet in South Central Texas on Thursday night, but the weatherman actually gave Brenham only a 1% chance.

Morgan was spending the evening with me & around 6pm, I went outside & saw a few flurries.  I figured that was all we were going to get so we went outside, took a few pics & were thankful for our one shot a winter this year.
But it kept snowing.
And it kinda started to accumulate.
7:00 & it was still snowing.
8:00 & it was still snowing.
9:00 & it was still snowing.
10:00 & it was still snowing.

Slowly but surely, Brenham was transforming into a winter wonderland.  It was like we were living in a snow globe.
Nola was snug as a bug in her flannel pj's! =)
I went to bed that night hoping & praying that it would still be there when I woke up. I opened the door to this...
Y'all, pictures do not do it justice. It was absolutely gorgeous.

I kinda wanted to stay home & look out the window all day.  I mean, who would have ever thought?!
My drive to work...
Picture overload I know.  #sorrynotsorry
But y'all, it's been like 30+ years since we have received this much snow so it has to be documented & documented well.

We leave on Saturday for NYC & I absolutely cannot wait!  Unfortunately no snow in the forecast while we are there but I'm at least hoping for some winter-like temps.  Can't wait to tell y'all all about it so stay tuned!!

{Holiday Happenings}

Hey Y'all!!  It's December & things are in full swing.  I feel like it's flying by & I just want it to slow down!!  Unfortunately blogging has taken a backseat so I'm going to try to play catch up this week...there's been a lot going on!  Here's a recap {mostly in pictures}...

On  December 1st, I hosted our neighborhood cookie exchange.  We all met at my house & then went to dinner.  We came back to the house, drank a few glasses of wine & exchanged cookies.  It was fun to catch up with everyone!
Signs of a good party! =)
The next night was our downtown Christmas Stroll & Parade. Y'all, I seriously love our little town.  It would have been nice if it would have been a tad bit colder...but I guess it is Texas after all.  So we improvised & had frozen hot chocolate instead!
The next week, the ladies at work & I went on our annual shopping/girl's night in College Station.  I mean - good friends, shopping & margaritas...what more could a girl ask for?!
...except Chick-fil-A at work!!  Y'all, the next day we had an activities committee lunch & Chick-fil-A delivered.  Best day ever!!
Well, I say that was the best day ever & then Mother Nature trumped it.  Y'all, we got SNOW!!  In Texas!!  More on our snow day to come...cause it deserves a post of it's own!!
