{October Recap}

What can I say, I am back to being a blogging flunky.  It just seems like there is so much going on & time is flying by.  Tomorrow is November 1st.  November 1st people!!  Like it's almost Thanksgiving & Christmas. The Hallmark Channel started playing Christmas movies on Saturday {yes, I did watch all weekend!} & XM Radio is starting their Holly Channel on Wednesday.  I am so.freaking.excited. =)

Anyway, back to October.  October was full of lots of fun stuff as well!  It's still hot here in Texas, but I sucked it up & made the most of it anyway.  Here's a little recap of what's been happening in October!

{Lots of Friday Night Lights}
There's nothing quite like high school football so several Friday nights were spent here!
{Camp For All Gala}
My brother had to go out of town so my sister-in-law invited me to be her guest at the Camp For All gala.  It was fun to get dressed up & help support such a truly remarkable organization that helps special needs children.
{Parade of Homes Tour}
One Sunday afternoon, my brother, sister-in-law & I went on a parade of homes tour in a nearby town. OMG!!  Talk about wanting to come home & redo my entire house. =(  Several homes featured the "fixer upper" look & I absolutely LOVED it.  White cabinets, black countertops, shiplap...  Dang you Parade of Homes!!!

{Hooray for Good Mail Days}
Within a matter of a few days, I received Mix & Mamma's cookbook, The Magnolia Journal magazine, The Magnolia Story book & this rug.  Seriously, the best week ever! Lots of late nights reading here lately.

{Aggie Football}
The Aggies tried to BTHO bama...but unfortunately they beat us.  But Amy & Khloe came over to watch the game with me & Nola so all was good.  This past weekend, Amy, Khloe, Mason & I went to the A&M/NMSU game...it was Khloe's first game & we had a great time!  We won 52-10...I love those stress-free games! =)

{I Voted}
There's not much else to say about that.  But pray for our country either way.
{I'm Going to Have Another Nephew}
We found out last week Colby & Jodie are expecting a boy!  Bo Jeffrey Finke is due around the first of April.
{Sleepover at Aunt Casey's}
Morgan spent the night this past Friday night...we did hair & makeup, watched lots of Disney Junior and ate mac & cheese at midnight. It was 24 hours of pure Heaven for Nola...to say she adores Morgan is an understatement {as seen by her need to constantly be touching her...even while she sleeps}.
{Halloween}
And that brings us to today - Happy Halloween!  I can't wait to pass out candy this evening & see all the adorable trick-or-treaters.  Nola is celebrating Halloween today at doggie daycare...she had to go in costume so she's a "rufferee" {not girly I know, but you try finding a costume last minute for a 75 pound dog...there's not too many XL left!}.  More pics to come!
So that's what I have been up to in October!  Nola celebrates her 2nd birthday this week & my Christmas tree will be going up soon...so stay tuned!

{Fall Home Tour}

Hey y'all!  Even though it doesn't even remotely feel like Fall here in Texas, I thought I would share my Fall Home Tour with y'all...cause you know I'll be decorating for Christmas soon. Just kidding.  Maybe.

Welcome!  I have to admit, I am loving my front porch this year.
I don't go overboard with Fall decor inside, just little pops of orange here & there.
My sweet niece left a message on my chalkboard. =)

My other favorite part is most definitely my dining table.  Since everyone uses the bar & rarely sits at the table, I am able to leave it "set" all the time & I LOVE it!  I started decorating it last Christmas & now I do it for every holiday.
I kept my mantel relatively simple for Fall because I knew I would change it up for Halloween.  Everything else stays as is, but the mantel got a Halloween makeover. =)
And here it is now for Halloween!  I was loving all the bats I was seeing on Instagram, and seeing as though I am not crafty - I was thrilled when I found these on sale for $3.99 at Michael's this weekend!

That's it!  Fairly simple.  While I enjoy decorating for Fall, I absolutely LOVE Christmas.  I am definitely counting down the days to Christmas lights, Christmas trees, & most importantly - Hallmark Christmas movies!! =)

{This & That}

I was going to title this "weekend recap"...and then I realized it was Thursday already & it didn't quite seem appropriate.  Tomorrow is already Friday again - which is a good thing - but it's crazy, scary how fast time is flying by.  I absolutely love October - December so I want to enjoy every single second of it.

The family all headed to the deer lease last weekend so Morgan spent the weekend with me.  I am not sure who was more excited...Morgan or Nola.  These two absolutely LOVE each other.
Friday night we had sweet Emmy's first birthday.
Saturday we hung out at the house & did a lot of this.
Morgan had another birthday party Saturday evening so I dropped her off & then headed to Wal-Mart & HEB...real exciting Saturday night, huh? After I picked her up, we met Amy & Khloe for supper.
Sunday, Morgan spent the day playing & I spent the day cleaning house.  Tuesday evening, I hosted National Night Out for our neighborhood.  This was the 3rd year for us to have it & we had over 50 people in attendance!  The fire department, EMS & police department all stopped by.  The weather was gorgeous, the food was delicious, & we got to meet a several of the new neighbors.  I think everyone had a great time!
Needless to say, by the time Tuesday night rolled around, Nola was out like a light.  Apparently having a busy social calendar is exhausting. =)
The only thing on the agenda this weekend is the big game between A&M & Tennessee on Saturday.  So you can guess where I will be most of the day {screaming at the TV I'm sure}.  And before I go, let's talk about these crazy hot temps for a minute.  We had a {very short} sneak peek at Fall the other weekend, but we have since been in the mid 90's.  If this is any indication of what our winter is going to be like, I have a feeling I am going to be a grouch the next 4-5 months.  Ugh.
Here's to hoping for an Aggie win  & cooler weather!
