{Covid19 2020}

The Covid19 Pandemic of 2020.

Who would have ever thought?!  To say this year {& 2019 for that matter} have been "strange" is an understatement.  Like I said in my last post, around mid-March, the talk of the Corona virus hitting the US began circulating.  I'll be honest, at first I didn't pay much attention...I thought they were overreacting.  The virus had started in China & virtually brought their country to a halt...but that wouldn't happen here.

But it did.

At first, they extended spring break by a week for the schools.  And then two.  And then until the end of March.  And then the end of April  Restaurants & bars were closed for dine-in.   Non-essential businesses closed.  Social distancing became the new term & towns started going on lock down.  They even closed the churches!!
 Not going to lie, the whole thing has been so surreal.

It's been devastating for small businesses & local restaurants so we've been doing our best to support them on the weekends.  Everyone is doing curbside delivery.  One of the best things to come of this?  To-go margaritas!! =)
On March 30th, Blue Bell began shift work.  Half of us work 5am-12pm & the other half works 12:30pm-7:30pm, Monday - Saturday.  Getting off work at noon is nice, but not going to lie, getting  up at 3:40 every morning is ROUGH.  We are 3 weeks in & I am still not used to it.  Because we are in the food industry, we are considered an "essential business" & have to remain open.
So basically, I get up, go to work, go home & take a nap, walk Nola, go to sleep...and repeat.  I miss Target & Hobby Lobby.  Most all of my shopping is curbside pickup {& you know it's a good day when you get toilet paper & paper towels on  your first ever order...beginner's luck!}.

This is so dang true because the ONLY thing we can do these days is EAT!
I delivered little "thinking of you" goodies to Kelly, Carol & Felicia last week.
We had our first Zoom girl's night.
And you know you have great neighbors when they deliver everyone in the hood a roll of toilet paper.
I'm pretty sure Nola is loving life right now.  We are there all the time & she gets to do lots of this.
Probably the strangest thing {to date} was not celebrating Easter with family & not going to sunrise service at church.  Mom & I watched church on my phone and had communion at the kitchen island.  Corey, Amanda & the kiddos stopped by for a short visit {while we all stood 6' apart}.  Nola was so excited to see her people.  She loves Morgan & Mason. Later that evening, Colby, Jodie & Bo stopped by for a quick Easter egg hunt.  Definitely one we won't forget!

Who knows what the future will bring.  We are definitely taking it one day at a time.  There is talk of starting to reopen some businesses.  But, the number of cases & deaths are still increasing so I'm not sure if that's such a good idea yet.  As difficult has this has all been, I have no doubt that we will come out better on the other side.
PS: We found out yesterday that my grandma tested positive for Covid19.  She is in a local nursing home & they have had several cases there.  Right now, she is doing well...no symptoms!  Please say a prayer that continues.
